Bracket knocked off your Braces?

A Bracket is Knocked Off Your Braces?  What to do

Brackets are the parts of braces attached to teeth with a special adhesive. They are generally positioned in the center of each tooth. The bracket can be knocked off if the student has eaten one of those hard or crunchy foods orthodontic patients are instructed to avoid, or if the mouth is struck while at play. (Encourage all students, especially those with braces, to wear a protective mouth guard while playing sports. Different parts of dental bracesIf the bracket is off center, the adhesive may have failed. Call the parents—and recommend that they immediately notify the orthodontist, who will determine the course of action. If the loose bracket has rotated on the wire and is sticking out, and the patient cannot immediately be taken to the orthodontist, you can do a temporary fix to alleviate discomfort and prevent further damage. But take care to prevent swallowing or other injury. To put the bracket back in place, use sterile tweezers to slide the bracket along the wire until it is between two teeth. Rotate the bracket back to the proper position, then slide it back to the center of the tooth.

What Invisalign Braces Can Do For You

Invisalign, Brookfield, Oak Creek, Milwaukee, Dental Braces, BracesInvisalign invisible braces are a more inconspicuous teeth straightening alternative to traditional metal braces.  Through a simple treatment process, patients generally walk away with a straight smile in less than a year.  Invisalign is a series of clear overlay templates, called aligners, which have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move teeth. This system is usually available only to more mature patients who are willing to comply with the necessary 23-hour-a-day wear time. Invisalign aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that is worn over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements Dr. Connell plans for you.

There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten—just a new set of aligners to put in approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. Plus, most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.

Invisalign invisible braces can solve several common alignment issues, thereby preventing further tooth damage and promoting better oral health.

Why would I want Invisalign?

Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.
